IAAPA
Corporate website redesign for the world's largest attractions trade association
UX/UI Design Lead · 2025
Context
IAAPA is the world's largest international trade association for the attractions industry: more than 6,000 member organizations across 100+ countries, spanning amusement parks, theme parks, water parks, zoos, aquariums, and manufacturers, plus the largest attractions industry trade show on earth. Founded in 1918, the corporate website hadn't kept pace with that scale. Members couldn't reliably find events, resources, or membership content, the legacy content library had grown without a coherent structure, and the CMS itself was overdue for replacement.
Contribution
Sole UX/UI design lead on a full corporate website redesign, solving longstanding navigation and information architecture failures that were actively preventing members from finding what they needed.
Restructured the full legacy content library and led a Drupal CMS migration, managing an external agency design partner end-to-end across briefs, reviews, and approvals, and building and implementing design templates directly in the CMS to ensure fidelity at the component level.
Outcome
A redesigned information architecture and content structure serving 6,000+ member organizations, delivered through a managed agency partnership and a Drupal CMS migration built and implemented directly by design rather than handed off blind.
